We went to Little Rock last Saturday to celebrate Emma and Blake's upcoming wedding with a Stock the Bar party, which was obviously adults-only. So CC and Bub met us in Little Rock for a day at the zoo and took the girls to Hot Springs and kept them overnight while we helped host the party. The zoo was a hit. We saw all sorts of animals--penguins (my personal fav), bears, a rhino, a zebra, porcupines (who knew they're HUGE?!), monkeys and more--had lunch at Cafe Africa, rode the train, and got in some people watching that nearly rivaled the animals. Ha! Sarah's company had won an auction for a private giraffe feeding with Macy and BJ, the giraffes, and they were nice enough to allow Olivia and I to tag along behind the scenes for that, which was very cool. Bub, CC and Colin stayed on the deck and watched from above as Sarah and I fed the giraffes. The intention was to let Olivia and Lila feed them but as much as they LOVED the giraffes, Olivia wouldn't go so far as to actually put the food on the giraffes' tongues, and Lila really just wanted a taste of the giraffe snacks for herself. The tour included a look in their stable (is that what it's called for a giraffe?) and Macy kept poking his head in to check out the crowd, which was so exciting for O. Every time he walked away, Olivia would point, whine and scream "Neigh, Neigh!" She clearly thinks all large animals are horses, but as far as I know, giraffes don't have a sound, so it's tough to argue--"neigh" works for me! (She did the same with half of the "non-verbal" animals at the drive thru zoo a couple of weeks back, by the way.) By the time it was over, we were all worn out. Of course, I think CC had it the hardest, because the girls kept her up half the night, taking turns crying loud enough to wake the other. Thanks for keeping our babies, Bub and CC!
On Sunday before we left town, we had a little girls-only brunch to celebrate Winnie Spencer's upcoming arrival (actually scheduled for the day before Emma's wedding) before driving back, and heading straight to our smALL group, during which Olivia had the complete meltdown she'd probably been holding back for days! We sure know how to fill a weekend, don't we?! We are so excited to meet Miss Winnie--she'll be here before we know it!

Ewww, can you tell I'm grossed out by that tongue?
He'd stick it out about a foot and wrap it around his snack.

Olivia's been a total mama's girl lately, but not this day!

What's that in your shirt, Bub?

I think she loved the train ride.
Wow, they are both growing up so fast! Looks like Bub and CC had just as fun as the kids did! :) I bet you and Sarah just love having the girls close in age to grow up together!
