TWO!

My baby's officially 2. And so far, it's anything but terrible! She's really turned a corner in the last couple of months with being able to express herself. Full sentences, tons of words, and will repeat pretty much anything. She's still dramatic, of course, but this has really cut back on the whininess and fit-throwing. Her sweet little demeanor is really shining through. Here are a few more updates:
  • She's like a little shepherd. She likes to keep her flock intact, and when someone wanders from the group, she becomes a broken record, repeating "Where Mommy Go? Where Daddy go? Where Owie go? Where Lila go? Where Bubbup go? Where Eci go? Where Tisha go? Where Tella go? (these are her latest variations on Bub, CC, Trixie)
  • She's very observant. One of her teachers recently switched from glasses to contacts, and said the whole day, Olivia was very concerned with "Where glasses go?" She kept feeling her face and looking around the room for them.
  • Swimming like a fish--we love her new floaty life jacket!
  • Says please, thank you, and bless you in (mostly) appropriate situations
  • At night, our routine starts with a bath (usually Daddy), then a bedtime story in Mommy and Daddy's bed (usually Mommy) during which she MUST get under our covers and have one of her own blankets for cuddling, then prayers before putting her into her crib. I always start her prayers with "Dear God, thank you for loving us..." and she usually repeats "Dear God" but then interrupts with "Thank you (for) Mommy, Thank you (for) Daddy, Thank you (for) Owie..." and proceeds with everyone who's top of mind for her. I usually have to cut back in to get some of our important prayers in. :-) And she loves to say "AAAA-Meeeeeen!"
  • Sings lots of songs. "Row Row" is hilarious to hear. I really need to get it on video. It's basically a loud, happy, screaming sort of song that goes like this "ROW ROW ROW mumble mumble STREEEEEEEEEEAM! MELLILY, MELLILY, MELLILY mumble mumble DREEEEEEEEEEEEAM!" And she's not afraid to sing it 100 times in a row. No pun intended.
  • She's good at counting, but we're pretty sure she thinks "Go" is the number after 1, 2, and 3.
  • Can get A-E on her ABC's pretty well, then just mumbles along.
